Independent Living Units
There are 89 Independent Living Units, 86 of which are two bedroom with the majority including single car garaging. The units offer a generously sized combined lounge/dining room with reverse-cycle air conditioning, kitchen with electric stove, are fully carpeted and have tiled bathroom and laundry.
The Community Hall is a hub for residents of the Independent Living Units. This large hall hosts a number of banquets through the year, has monthly functions featuring a variety of entertainers, Happy Hour and weekly cards and Housie nights.
The Community Hall includes a kitchen for caterers, bar, large screen and projector for movies and computer room complete with six computers, colour laser printer and high-speed Internet access. Free computer lessons are provided and are proving very popular with residents keen to learn how to use computers and master the skill of sending and receiving emails.
Serviced Apartments
Serviced Apartments are the second level of care provided at the Jenny MacLeod Retirement Village. The Serviced Apartments are contained in an easy to access, single level building.
The heart of our Serviced Accommodation is the newly-constructed community dining and entertainment complex. This spacious building has more than doubled the community area available to residents, and features timber-lined cathedral ceiling, warm timber finishes, comfortable armchairs and lounges and is perfect for reading, card games and activities. You can relax and watch Foxtel on the 60” LCD television or entertain family and friends. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to a broad sandstone patio area which wraps around the northern and western sides of the new dining and activities complex.
Serviced Apartments are designed for residents who would prefer to have their daily living needs catered to by experienced and attentive staff. Residents enjoy a dignified and caring environment in private air conditioned bed-sitter apartments with en-suite and kitchenette for single residents while, for couples, larger air conditioned one bedroom plus sunroom and kitchen accommodation is available.
The all-inclusive service fee provides a comprehensive range of seniors care with the same levels of service for residents in all our serviced accommodation – the perfect lifestyle for those finding the chores of day-to-day living becoming burdensome. Services include:
All Meals – freshly-prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner are enjoyed in the dining room daily. Morning tea is also served for those who care to partake. In summer, the BBQ is fired up and, for a touch of variety, meals can be enjoyed in the alfresco area.
Activities – with daily games and activities, the variety of bus trips (two outings a week) and the crazy costumes our kitchen staff adorn on Fantastic Friday theme days you need never worry about boredom.
Housekeeping – every week your Apartment is thoroughly cleaned: vacuuming, dusting and mopping, with extra care in the bathroom and kitchenette.
Laundry – once a week your laundry is collected, washed and ironed and delivered back to you. If you wish, you can hand wash your more personal items, place them in the provided ‘delicates’ drying bag and we will tumble dry them and return to you still in their delicates bag.
24/7 On-Site Nursing Care – our senior registered nurse has a wealth of experience and will coordinate your health requirements with visiting medical professionals, hospitals and local pharmacy. Visits by a doctor, podiatrist, clergy and hairdresser are regular events.
