Is there a Resident Agreement?
Yes. There is a detailed agreement which outlines your rights and entitlements and all conditions of residency plus all of our obligations to you.
What happens to my Licence or Bond?
If you reside in an Independent Living Unit, you will have a Licence and if you reside in a Serviced Apartment or Serviced Villa you will have a Bond. The amount of a Licence or Bond is determined by the style of accommodation you choose. Licences and Bonds enable JMRV to carry out its operations for your duration of stay. While you reside at JMRV, your Licence or Bond is secured as first priority against the physical land and buildings of the village.
With respect to the security of your Licence or Bond, a statutory charge is created over the land of JMRV, following its registration as a retirement village scheme under the Retirement Villages Regulation 2009 (under the Retirement Villages Act 1999 NSW) (the Act). The statutory charge protects the repayment by Jenny MacLeod Retirement Village to each resident of the resident’s exit entitlement.
This Federal Act provides that the statutory charge is given priority over all registered securities in or over Jenny MacLeod Retirement Village. This priority prevails regardless of whether or not another mortgage was registered before the statutory charge was notified to the register of titles.
For residents in Serviced Accommodation, can family and friends be invited for meals?
Guests are most welcome for both the main meal of the day – lunch time – and the lighter evening meal. Bookings are preferred but not essential and a small fee is charged.
Can family and friends stay with me?
We encourage residents to keep in contact with relatives and friends. Residents in Serviced Apartments are welcome to have day visitors and Residents in Independent Living Units may have guests stay for up to two weeks.
